Phytochemistry, NMR spectroscopy for structure elucidation, Antibacterial Drug Discovery.
Dr Mukhlesur Rahman completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in 1993 and Master of Pharmacy in 1995 from the University of Dhaka with first class in both examinations. Being a registered pharmacist in Bangladesh he started his career in the quality control of pharmaceuticals at Organon (Bangladesh) Ltd and then moved to the University of Rajshahi where he joined as a Lecturer in Pharmacy in 1996. He was awarded PhD in Phytochemistry from the University of Strathclyde under the supervison of Dr Sandy Gray in 2003 and the returned to the University of Rajshahi where he subsequently promoted to Associate Professor. In 2006, Dr Rahman joined the School of Pharmacy as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Cetre for Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy in Professor Simon Gibbons’ group.
