Senior Lecturer in Structural Chemistry
Head of Structural Chemistry Services
Deputy Course Director of MSc in Drug Discovery
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, Structure Elucidation, Molecular Modelling, and Mechanism of anticancer MDR.
Dr Mire Zloh graduated in Physical Chemistry from the University of Belgrade (Yugoslavia) in 1987. He was then awarded an MSc in Physical Chemistry from the same university in 1992. His research in structural biology resulted in a PhD in Chemistry from the University of London in 1998 with a thesis entitled "Conformational Studies of the High Affinity IgE Receptor Peptides and Domains by NMR and Molecular Modelling".
Dr Mire Zloh has managed the NMR services in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry since 2000. He is now responsible for the recently integrated structural chemistry service that provides NMR, MS, CHN and HPLC analysis for internal and external users.
Prior to his present position he worked in the School while studying for a PhD. He was an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade for the Clinical Chemistry Instrumentation course before moving to London. From 2002 to 2003, he was a tutor counsellor for the Open University. Dr Zloh is Deputy Director on the MSc Course in Drug Discovery at The School of Pharmacy. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Biochemical Society, Serbian Chemical Society and Yugoslav Society of Physical Chemists.
Dr Zloh has developed internal collaborations with Professors Simon Gibbons, Steve Brochini, David Thurston and Stephen Neidle, and Dr John Malkinson. He has external collaborations with Professor Paul Smith (University of Wales), Professor Ivan Juranic (University of Belgrade), Dr Petros Tsougas (Greece), and Dr Robert Falconer and Professor Laurence Patterson (University of Bradford).
