English Language Proficiency

All students whose first language is not English must demonstrate adequate proficiency in English language.

The School requires one of the following: 

  • 6.5 IELTS (with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill area) / 7.0 IELTS for MRes
  • 92 for internet-based TOEFL / 107 for MRes
  • 237 for computer-based TOEFL (with a minimum of 4 in the TWE) / 263 for MRes
  • 580 for paper-based TOEFL / 627 for MRes
  • 64 in Pearson Test of English (Academic) / 72 for MRes

UETESOL: pass with minimum of grade B in each skill area.

Pre-sessional English Classes

The School of Pharmacy recommends that students undertake the pre-sessional language classes at the English Language Centre, King's College London and attain a grade of 'B+' .

Students studying pre-sessional language courses at other UK universities / langauge schools will be required to submit the IELTS/TOEFL/PTE score as specified above in addition to their course result.

In-sessional English Classes

The School of Pharmacy runs a special English language class once a week from October to June for undergraduate and postgraduate students at no extra cost. The class meets for one and a half hours each week.
